Check out this pic from my backyard! Do you see the quail sitting up on the fence post!?!?! That's right a California Quail sitting in my backyard! I wasn't quick enough to snap a shot of his mate. She is on the ground foraging for something...maybe supplies to make a nest? I also didn't get a good close up shot (something about me running outside with a camera scared them away) so I've included a random picture from the internet so you can see what he looked like up close.
